In Loving Memory of Doreen Rita Gore (née Lynch)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen Rita Gore (née Lynch) of High River, Alberta, on June 12, 2026, at the age of 78.

Doreen was born on May 23, 1948, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared 56 loving years of marriage with her husband, Alan Gore, building a life centered on family, kindness, and unwavering support for those she loved.

Doreen leaves behind her beloved husband Alan Gore; her children, Sara Helzer, David Gore, and Colin Gore; her cherished grandchildren; and her siblings, Danny Lynch and Irene Pedersen. She will also be deeply missed by her extended family and many friends.

Doreen's greatest accomplishment in life was the love and care she gave to her family. She was the kind of mother and grandmother who never said no when someone needed help. Whether it was babysitting, lending a helping hand, or quietly offering financial support when times were tough, Doreen was always there. Her generosity, strength, and selflessness touched countless lives.

Some of her happiest memories included visiting her daughter in Dubai, cuddling her grandchildren, sharing family days at the beach, and taking her children to the Calgary Stampede. She often spoke of her remarkable journey immigrating from Dublin to Calgary in 1957 with her family, a voyage that shaped the resilient woman she became.

Doreen enjoyed life's simple pleasures: a good game of bingo, going out for lunch with family and friends, and spending time at home surrounded by those she loved. Her favorite color was pink, her favorite flower was the lily, and she never turned down a traditional roast beef dinner.

Though she didn't particularly like going to the lake, some of our fondest memories are from our time with her there. She also enjoyed outings with loved ones. 

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Jeff and the compassionate staff at High River Hospital, as well as Father Marius Sztuk, for their kindness, care, and support during Doreen's final days.

Doreen's love, warmth, and generosity will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of family, compassion, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Desales Catholic Church (206 9th Ave West High River, AB) on Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 am
