William (Bill) Maunder Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, William (Bill) Maunder, left this world peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 86.

Bill will forever be loved and remembered by his wife of 32 years, Dianne; children Ken (Barb), Karen (Tom), Dan (Karen), and Tracy (Boyd); his 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy; 4 nephews; and countless friends.

Bill was born on November 23, 1937, in Vanguard, Saskatchewan, where he grew up tending to the family farm, until he moved to Calgary in 1960, with his first wife Marjorie.

It's in Calgary where he pursued his passion for cars by working with GSL Chev City for over 40 years. He also spent time at Circle 8 Speedway, where he was a part of the pit crew working on stock cars. Bill's dedication to his family was unwavering, as he would devote his vacation days to going back to Vanguard every spring and fall to help his father tend to the farm. He continued this until his parents sold the farm and moved to Strathmore, AB.

One of Bills favorite past times was going out for coffee or breakfast with his friends or colleagues. It was at one of his favorite coffee spots where he met his second wife, Dianne. It was love at first sight, and they married in 1992. Their love and dedication to one another over the past 32 years is truly an inspiration.

Bill would light up the room with his personality. His quick wit, love of giving his family and friends a "hard time", and overall sense of humor made people gravitate towards him anywhere he went. He was that person who everyone seemed to know when you entered a room.

Bill will be dearly missed and will be remembered and loved by all who knew him.
