William (Bill) Duffy Obituary

William “Bill” Duffy passed away peacefully at Peter Lougheed Hospital, Calgary, on Monday, July 22,2024 at the age of 52.

He leaves behind his partner of 27 years, Joan; son Billy (Marchela); daughter Josie (Cara); and grandson Billy; brothers and sisters, Brent, Margie (Leo), Natalie (Peter); brother and sisters-in-law, Ann (Gary), James (Cassandra), Margaret (Brenden), and Charles (Kim); as well as several nieces and nephews, Byron King (Stacey), Carrie-Lynn King (Ryan), Chelsea, Jimmy, Ryan, Raymond, Justin, Kelly, Hailey, Kevin, Jamie, and Matthew; and several more cousins and extended family.

Bill is predeceased by his loving parents Bill and Theresa Duffy; brothers Gary and Mark; and grandson Luchano.

Bill was a loving man born in Upper Derby, New Brunswick, who made Calgary his home for the past 19 years. He was a lover of nature and the stars making his career to be an exceptional framer and woodworker. He loved the mountains, fishing, anything that would bring his solitude, including his copious hours of watching the Jays play, and the Maple Leafs, he’d never miss a game. But most of all he loved his family with a huge heart.

While Calgary has been home for Bill, there was always a part of him home in New Brunswick and seeked that out wherever he could here in Alberta, finding his little pieces of home when he could. While he will be greatly missed and will cast a big hole in all of his family’s hearts, we as a family would like to thank the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary for giving him the best care he needed at the time, the support from friends and family that continue to support and love Bill.

Bill will have a family farewell Friday, July 26, 2024, for his family in Calgary, and he will be laid to rest in Ferguson Presbyterian Cemetery, with his mother and father in New Brunswick, to be determined at a later date.
