On July 10th, 2024, at age 70, shortly before noon, we lost Wayne to a very aggressive cancer. He did not suffer much as his pain was quite limited as the disease marched on quickly. For that we are grateful.
Wayne was a very colorful character with many friends. He also connected quite easily with people who he had only just met, as they liked his exuberance and affable nature. His love and knowledge of rock'n'roll and its history was at a PhD level. His skill as a drummer was quite impressive and only got better as time went by. He also honed his vocal skills to, again, a fairly impressive level. He had many friends who also played, and they were always happy to see him at jam, a party, or even at impromptu join ins.
He is survived by his sons Tyler(Jodi) of Calgary, Jared of Lethbridge, and daughter Melissa of Coledale, AB. Also left to remember are his brothers Don Carberry (Kathy), Al Carberry
(Melody), and Geoff Carberry. Fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Jodi Anhorn (Kathy), along with father-in-law Al Anhorn (Doreen), many nieces and nephews, grandchildren (Megan, Emily), and even a couple great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Janelle, his brother Joe, his parents Joe Sr. and Mirna Carberry. He will be dearly missed, and very fondly remembered.
"You will be fondly remembered,
and constantly quoted.
You may be gone but it will be
impossible to forget you!
Truly one of a kind"
