It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Trevor Daniel Berger at the age of 44 in Calgary.
Trevor leaves behind his sister Pamela, her husband Myles, and their children Seth, Hailey, Bodie, Dax, and Larz. He was predeceased by his mother Patricia in 2005 to Multiple Sclerosis and his chosen brother Adam (Tyni) Spence in 2016.
Although he had one sister, Trev filled his life with numerous other family members and friends that he chose to shine his light on. Trevor will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him and whose lives he touched.
He was born in Fort McMurray in 1979. His earliest memories are from when the family settled in Arcola, Saskatchewan in 1984. Here is where he discovered his dream of becoming a pilot. Lucky for him, he had two uncles that owned airplanes and his uncle Frank had an airstrip on his land just a block down the street. They both would take Trev and Pam up in their prop planes.
Trevor also developed a passion for taking things apart at a young age. When he was 5 years old, he decided to disassemble his dad’s street bike. At the end of the day, nobody knew how to put it back together.
Christmas 1987, his mom moved him and his sister to Strathmore. In 1988, the Winter Olympics were in Calgary, the Flames won the Stanley Cup, and the Stampeders won the Grey Cup. It was also the year that the words Multiple Sclerosis became a part of his vocabulary. As this disease ripped his family apart, he met Tyni and found his chosen brother. Tyni came over to work on a spaghetti bridge with Pam for their school project, but he managed to do none of the work as he, instead, played Leisure Suit Larry with Trev. It was then that they bonded over video games and their dads both being truckers. He was a brother to many of us and will be dearly missed.
