Tracy Glover-Broussard Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tracy Marion Glover-Broussard, on January 1st, 2024, her 41st birthday, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, in the comfort of her home in Calgary, Alberta surrounded by loving family and friends. Tracy was born in Winnipeg and raised in the Garson, Tyndall and Beausejour areas of Manitoba. She attended Garson/Tyndall Elementary Schools (K-5) and Edward Schreyer High School (6-12) graduating in 2001. Tracy was active in all sports but excelled at ringette and hockey. She spent many hours on the ice in the arena (old barn) in Beausejour. Tracy loved spending time with family and friends, and also at Grandpa and Grandma’s farm with the animals and riding horses. Tracy was a beautiful and vibrant young lady and was voted in as Beausejour's Canadian Power Toboggan Championship Winter Farewell Queen in 2001. As an adult, Tracy moved back to Winnipeg where she worked in the service industry and as a physical therapist assistant. In 2007 Tracy was diagnosed with brain cancer. Even though she was only 24 at the time, she faced the news with strength and a positive attitude. In 2013, she moved to Calgary where she first worked for a real estate law firm and went on to become a mortgage broker. In 2018, Tracy, along with several other brokers, went on to join the company Mortgage Connection, and in 2020 she became a partner where she proudly worked until her health deteriorated. Tracy was an incredibly active person. Her favourite sporting activities were hockey (with the guys) and yoga, but she was also involved in baseball, curling, snowboarding and hiking. She was a very sociable person and loved spending time with her family, many friends and colleagues. Tracy was a very kind and caring person. She engaged in extensive charitable work for cancer, homelessness and other causes for those less fortunate. She will truly be missed for her energy and enthusiasm in everything she did. At the beginning of 2022, Tracy met the love of her life, Matthew Broussard. They soon became inseparable and spent time between Calgary and Miami, Florida for Matthew's work. On December 29th, 2023 only 3 days before her passing, Tracy and Matthew were married in a beautiful ceremony in their home with family and close friends. Tracy is survived by her husband Matthew, mother Marion Dawson, father Bruce Glover, "bonus mom" Shelly Glover, and mother-in-law Doris Broussard; siblings Jason (Jasmin) Glover, Jamie-Lee (Austin) Walker, Michael (Kimberly) Strickland, and Randi Graham; her fur-baby of 15 years, Piper; nephew Jake Glover and her nieces Sadie Glover, Mila Walker, Evie Walker and Emma Strickland; aunts and uncles Jan (Ken) Greig, Dawn (Lawrence) Rotinsky, Monika (John) Norris; cousins Scott (Crystal) Greig, Kevin (Kara) Greig, Kristy (Chris) Greig, Jennifer Rotinsky, Jeff (Heather) Rotinsky, Trisha (Kristen) Rotinsky, Tyler (Ayla) Rotinsky, Justin (Carly) Norris, and Sara (Kyle) McCombs, and many other extended family and friends. Tracy is pre-deceased by her Oma and Opa Erich and Paula Metz and her grandparents Dick and Joan Glover. In accordance with Tracy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and celebrations of life will be held at a later time in both Calgary and Winnipeg to allow family and friends to mourn and come together in her memory. The family would like to thank all of Tracy's health care teams at HSC CancerCare Manitoba and Calgary's Tom Baker Cancer Centre over the years for all of their care and assistance in extending Tracy's quality and length of life. Although they couldn't beat the brain cancer, they gave it one hell of a fight. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to https://hatsforhopecanada.ca (Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada)
