It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas “Terry” Adcock after a courageous battle with cancer. He fought so hard to stay with us despite the pain but now he is finally at peace.
Born in Chatham, New Brunswick on June 18, 1951, to Tom and Sue Adcock, he was an Airforce brat who moved numerous times. Amongst his fondest childhood memories was going for a family picnic along the banks of the Rhine River in Germany and riding his bike to go fishing around Centralia, Ontario.
Happily married for 52 years to his wife Marsha. He was a dedicated father who loved and worshipped his three daughters Tara (Brad), Tracy (Lee) and Leslie, and was delighted to be Papa to his four wonderful grandchildren, Kaelan, Audriana, Rowan and Landon.
Terry was predeceased by his parents Tom and Susan, his sister Deborah (Ray) and three close friends Larry, Bill and Ray.
He is survived by his sister Firth (Niece Taylor), brother Bruce, sister-in-law Bonnie (Gordie), nephew Christopher, and numerous nieces and a nephew.
He leaves to mourn his family, many dear friends and best friend Dennis (Arlene).
He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindness, love of nature and for always putting others first. Even in his final days, he could still light up a room.
He was a skilled pressman who always took pride in his work and enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow staff.
He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and the special times with his grandchildren. These special times included swimming, road trips and trips to the park.
He loved swimming, fishing, playing baseball and curling and was an avid fan of the Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets. He was musically inclined and loved listening to his favorite tunes which he shared with his girls. He also loved to dance and could cut a mean rug by doing a polka or jive.
We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for him including unit 95, Dr. Alimohamad and staff of the Arthur Child hospital. A special thank you to the food staff who accommodated him and served him such delicious meals. Also, to Dr. Oleschig and the wonderful caring staff of the Foothills Country Hospice who made his final days better ones.
In keeping with Terry’s personal wishes, no formal memorial service will be held. For those wishing to honor his memory, the family requests that donations be made to the Foothills Country Hospice to enable them to continue their special care for others.
