It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Nichols at the age of 78 on the evening of December 1st, 2025. After a brief battle with cancer, Terry went peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
He is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Nichols; his son-in-law, Jason Chapman; his grandson, Emerson Chapman; and his cousin, Lori Somner. He also leaves behind many dear friends who were like family, especially John and Lorna Carter, who were by his side in his final moments. Terry was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Nichols; his mother, Betty Nichols; his sister Jill Nichols; and his eldest daughter, Tracey Nichols Chapman.
Terry will be remembered for his kind and charismatic spirit. He was funny, intelligent, and always quick to offer support to anyone who needed him. His warmth and generosity touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Terry was a passionate man with many interests. Time at the dog park with his beloved companion, Duke, brought him immense joy and community. Membership at iFLY Indoor Skydiving was a constant in Terry’s life, lasting through his final days. Kayaking was another favorite pastime, and his adventurous spirit thrived among friends in the Apocalypse Scooter Club. In earlier years, Terry enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Bum Biters Ski Club.
We wish we could acknowledge everyone whose kindness surrounded Terry, as his circle of loved ones was wide and deeply cherished. Our family has truly felt the outpouring of love and support.
In the new year, we will come together to celebrate Terry’s life and the lasting impact he had on all of us.
We look forward to hearing the many stories from those whose lives he touched.
Terry’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
