It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden passing of Terry Bergen, of Hays, Alberta, on May 16, 2026, at the age of 57 years.
Terry leaves to mourn his beloved wife Christa, and his precious children Dustyn (Taylor) Houston of Raymond, AB, Cayleigh and Carsyn Houston-Bergen of Hays, AB. He will also be deeply missed by his beautiful Granddaughters, Lamya and Charlotte. Also left behind are siblings Kelly (Kathy), Roxanne (Kevin), sister-in-law Gwen, various nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Terry was pre-deceased by his parents, Ed and Helen Bergen, brothers Kevin and Ron (Gwen) Bergen, and mother-in-law Ruth Stukart.
It was Terry's deepest devotion to his family that carried him through his hardest days. He was incredibly proud of the children who chose to call him Dad. While unable always be physically involved in their daily activities, he was always available for movie nights, long conversations, and a “Dad Hug”.
Terry was encompassed in a loving family, who valued, and respected his gentle manner. He loved to cook for them, and take care of them in whatever way he could. He was very close to his father-in-law, John Stukart, and loved spending time with him, and was grateful to have him as his “Dad”. Terry is also going to be missed by lifelong friend, Rick Wenzel.
While Terry's journey was difficult, he always had Christa to lift him up and love him every day. Their connection and deep love for each other was seen by all, in their actions, and how they “chose” each other every single day.
A Celebration of Terry's Life will be held for family and friends in the near future.
