Sherry Flahr Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sherry Lynn Flahr, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully on the morning of June 27, 2025, at the age of 69, surrounded by the love of her children and family.

Born on March 14, 1956, in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Sherry lived a life rooted in strength, resilience, and fierce independence. Known for her sharp wit and fiery spirit, she had a sense of humour that could light up a room and a fierce determination that carried her through life’s many challenges.

Sherry faced both joy and hardship with courage and grit, including a difficult battle with cancer that she met with fire, humour, and unshakable will. True to her spirit, she let go on her own terms and passed quietly in the early morning hours, her fierce independence intact. She was fiery right up until her final breath, holding onto her bold spirit even as her body let go.

She is survived by her children, Jaime Mansour (Brettney) and Kim Olowa (née Mansour), and her five cherished grandchildren: Aleara, Makai, Jaxon, Maddox, and Lily. She is also survived by her siblings, Shelly Flahr and Rick Flahr, as well as numerous extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her strength and spirit.

Sherry was predeceased by her brother Randy Flahr, her mother Beverley Wolfe, and her father Ben Flahr.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated nurses, health care aids and doctors at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre and Chinook Hospice for their compassion, support, and outstanding care during Sherry’s final journey. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

In keeping with Sherry’s wishes, there will be no formal service and a private cremation will take place.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherry’s memory can be made to Intercare Chinook Hospice whose compassionate care brought comfort in her final days or to the Sarcoma Cancer Foundation of Canada to support research and awareness for rare cancers like MPNST that Sherry battled.

“Her love remains in the quiet moments, the gentle guidance, and the lives she helped shape.”
