It is with great sadness that we announce Scott Anthon Quackenbush, of Banff, Alberta, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on January 6, 2026, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Scott is survived by his girlfriend and partner Ainhoa, parents Helen and Phil, siblings Kyle (Kristen), Amy (Ryan), and Ben, niece Charlotte and nephew Henry, and many friends who were family to him, including his boys Ben, Jordan, Justin, Mike, and Zach.
Scott, affectionately known as Scottie/Scotty, was born on August 3, 1995, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, the youngest of four siblings. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors was evident from a young age. It was this adventurous spirit that took him west. Drawn by the beauty, mountains, and wilderness, Scott moved to Banff in 2020. Here he met many more friends and the love of his life, Ainhoa, with whom he shared some of his greatest adventures of all.
Scott had a smile that could light up a room and an unmistakable laugh that was infectious to all who heard it. His humor, exuberance, and caring nature were evident to all who knew him. He was fearless with a heart of gold and lived his life to the fullest, doing what he loved with the people he loved. Whether skiing, fishing, camping, golfing, cooking, hiking, travelling, paintballing, or dirt biking, Scott filled his life with the things and people that brought him joy, in turn bringing joy and light to the lives of so many.
Scott was beloved by his girlfriend, parents, brothers, sister, brother and sister in-law, aunts and uncles, cousins, girlfriend's mother, and friends. To know Scott, was truly to love him. He will be deeply missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Scott can be made to the Pestell Centre for Compassionate Care (Bow Valley Palliative, *Hospice Palliative Care Campaign Fund) or the Canadian Cancer Society.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 375 (233 Centre St E, Richmond Hill, ON) on Saturday May 23rd, from 1pm to 4pm.
