Sandra Janis Warner (nee Berard) Sandra Janis Warner, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, at the age of 80.
She was born on June 27, 1945, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she spent her early years surrounded by her large family, and many friends. She is predeceased by her mother - Alexandrine, father - Alfred, and her 6 siblings - Fred, Ada, Jerry, Nan, Sally and Yvonne.
Sandi’s journey took her briefly to Vancouver, BC, where her first child, Jason, was born, before returning home to Winnipeg and settling in Fort Richmond. She spent many years volunteering at Richmond Kings Community Club building lifelong friendships she truly treasured. In 1988, her career with Westfair Foods brought a major change as she and her three children were relocated to Calgary, Alberta. Calgary became her home for the remainder of her life, and the place where she built deep roots, strong friendships, and a legacy of love.
Sandi dedicated many years of hard work to Westfair Foods before retiring. Never one to slow down, she later joined Lowe’s (later Rona), where she made many cherished friendships and was known for her warmth, kindness, and steady presence. Above all else, Sandi loved her family fiercely. She was a proud mother and leaves behind 3 children: Jason (Erin), Nicole (Chad), and Jeff (Karen). She was also a devoted grandmother to her eleven grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure: Amanda, Jessica, Matthew, Alex, Kennedy, Zachary, Ashlee, Noah, Parker, Alisha, and Cooper and 2 great grandchildren Elias & Kacey. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Sandi was a familiar and beloved face in the stands of countless arenas. She spent endless hours cheering on her 2 sons in hockey and her daughter in ringette and later became a steadfast supporter of her grandchildren as they carried on the family tradition in hockey and ringette. Her presence was constant, her pride unmistakable, and her love unwavering. Outside of family and sports, Sandi found joy in the simple pleasures of life — a good round of golf, a delicious Italian meal, and a glass of Pinot Grigio or two shared with laughter and conversation.
Sandi will be remembered for her strength, her loyalty, her sense of fun, and the deep love she poured into the people around her. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished so dearly and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.
The family would like to thank the incredibly caring nurses, doctors and palliative team at Unit #32 at the Foothills Hospital for the endless support, compassion and guidance. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
