The family of Sam Park is sad to share that he passed away on December 27, 2025. Sam was a caring husband to Elizabeth, who predeceased him in 2022, and father to Helen (Garnet) and Geoffrey. Sam was also a loving grandpa to Marilyn, Jane (Mark), Matthew and Adam. Sam was born in 1940 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. In 1962 he met Elizabeth at a local dance, and they married in 1963. Not long after getting married Sam and Elizabeth embarked on a new adventure and immigrated to Canada. Sam had many interests during his lifetime. He especially enjoyed music, and their home was filled with many kinds of music over his lifetime. Sam was an active and enthusiastic member of several church choirs, as well as being a longtime member of a barbershop chorus. Sam had a lifetime love of the sea, and in his later years he indulged his interest and became a fully accredited sailboat skipper. He also shared a love of gardening with Elizabeth, and they spent many years creating and recreating the landscapes of the home they shared for almost 50 years. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Chartwell memory care for the support and care Sam received. We would also like to thank the staff at the Grey Nuns hospital easing his passing. A small family gathering will be held at a later date, to honour his memory.
