It is with profound sadness that the family of Ruben Dalupang announces his peaceful passing at the age of 74 in Calgary, Alberta.
Born on September 5, 1950, in Cauayan Isabela, Philippines. Ruben began his journey that brought him to Canada in 1973. He lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, before moving to Surrey, British Columbia, in 1989 and eventually settling in Calgary, Alberta, in 2006.
Ruben was known for his warm personality, quick wit, and always making funny jokes. Throughout his working life, Ruben excelled as a welder and later transitioned into the healthcare field before retiring.
In his free time, Ruben enjoyed watching football, solving puzzles, watching game shows and keeping up with current events. He loved taking long drives, which gave him time to relax and explore. Later in life, he discovered a passion for hiking, exploring Alberta’s many scenic trails.
Ruben is predeceased by his parents, Tranquilino and Jenny. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Virginia; his daughters, Cher (Jason) and Jenny (Arif); his cherished grandchildren, Dominick (Aiesha), Zain, and Arianna; as well as his many siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Ruben’s sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
The family wishes sincere gratitude to the dedicated Nurses, Care Givers and Doctors at Foothills ICU and Special Services Staff Unit #36 for their compassionate care and support during Rubens illness and passing.
A small family private viewing will be held at Evan J Strong Funeral Services North (3625 12 Street NE) on Thursday, March 26, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.
