Roy Nichols Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Roy Russell Nichols, age 79 of Calgary, Alberta. Roy fought a short battle with cancer and passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 20, 2022.

He was the son of the late Roy and Audrey (nee Cossit) Nichols.

Roy will be forever missed by his children Bonny (Gerry), Kim (Frank), and Tim; grandchildren Sara (Jon), Ariel (Lance), Heather, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren Dominic, Isaac, Aurora, Emmett, Madelynn, and Porter. He is survived by his sister Mary Lou and brother Lucky.

Roy was born in Hamilton Ontario and moved to Calgary in 1978. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching car racing. In his later years, he liked to hunt for various collectible items and pass the time doing jigsaw puzzles. Throughout his life, he loved taking his family to the zoo.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Foothills Medical Center, Tom Baker Cancer Center, and Rosedale Hospice for their care and compassion.
