Robert (Bob) Norman Gardiner

Robert (Bob) Norman Gardiner passed away on May 27, 2026, at the age of 78 in Calgary, Alberta. Born on February 21, 1948, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, Bob was a cherished member of his community and a beloved figure among family and friends.

Bob completed his early education at Princess Margaret Public School and Westlane Secondary School in Niagara Falls, Ontario, before advancing to Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, where he graduated from the business division in 1969. Bob's career in computer sales and consulting spanned several decades, during which he was respected for his expertise and dedication.

Bob was a people person, known for his warmth, hospitality, and the joy he brought to gatherings. He was an enthusiastic storyteller and a passionate cook, albeit a messy one, who was always the life of the party. His early work experience at Finbows grocery store in high school provided him with a solid foundation in business, which he carried throughout his life.

In his youth, Bob was actively involved in the Key Club and the Boy Scouts, contributing to community volunteer activities and enjoying the camaraderie of his peers. He was an avid participant in sports at high school, including football and curling. Bob cherished his family's summer vacations, camping and visiting relatives across Canada, creating lasting memories.

Bob is survived by his daughter Lauren; son-in-law Simon; grandchildren Ethan and Avery; son Patrick; daughter-in-law Monica; granddaughter Daniela; grandson Dominic; step-daughters Tera-Lee and Tiffeny; grandchildren Jayna and Nole; brother Barry; sister-in-law Sally; sister Ruth; brother-in-law David; nephews Jason and Brian; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alexis Gardiner.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre or The Centre for Mental Health & Addictions Bob's warmth and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
