Robert (Bob) Clark, born on September 27, 1963, in Saskatoon, SK, to Bruce and Betty Clark, peacefully passed away at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB, on October 4, 2023, after a short battle with recurred cancer at the age of 60. It is with heavy hearts, that we announce his passing.
Robert (Bob) grew up in Saskatoon and attended Westmount Public School and then Bedford Road Collegiate. School was not his favorite, but the love of learning was part of his whole life.
Although a cabinet maker by trade, he loved discovering items that ultimately would have an alternate purpose. His house in Marda Loop is a testament to that creativity and artistic flare, resulting in being interviewed by CBC in 2009, showcasing green living. The two tattoos on his arms are a reminder of his love of salvage art.
Thinking outside the box, thinking of things differently, and asking what you don’t want to help you find what you do, was a constant. This helped in the creative process. His love of learning was constant “Tell me a story” often the first words of engagement.
He had the opportunity to work for Heritage Career Opportunities for a few years, working with adults with special needs. His love for them was also evident in the shenanigans that he participated with them in. Different, does not mean lesser, and if you know Robert Clark, you have experienced the acceptance and genuineness of who he was.
Robert was a loving and devoted husband to Becky, his wife of 18 years, and father to Amber Clark, his only daughter.
He was loved greatly by his brother Brian, sister Brenda, (late sister Barbara), their children and grandchildren, and others who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Bob or Uncle Bobbie, as well as numerous friends who were family.
He was predeceased by his father Bruce, mother Betty, and oldest sister Barbara.
Robert was an embodiment of compassion, kindness, and a heart that knew no bounds. His genuine love for others left a mark on all the lives he touched. His ability to connect with people and his generosity of spirit made him a cherished friend to many.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at cSpace Marda Loop (1721 29 Ave SW, Calgary), on Sunday, October 15, 2023, starting at 3:00 p.m., with a potluck in the Treehouse, Storytime in the Theatre, starting at 6:00 p.m. (This date is coincidentally his brother Brian’s birthday, as well as his late parent’s wedding anniversary).
