Ricky Joseph Severin

With broken hearts we share with you the passing of an epic human. Rick has found peace for his restless soul and the angels carried him home. Anyone who knew him spoke of his loyalty and willingness to help those he cared for, even to his own detriment at times.

My brother cherished family above all else and once he loved you, you were family.

Forever will he be remembered for his sense of humour (his laugh and brilliant smile), his big heart, and his ability to make people feel better and find a way to tomorrow. I only wish he could have given himself the same love he so freely gave those around him.

Rick was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario but spent most of his life in Alberta. His childhood in Airdrie & Didsbury gained him lifelong friends. Most of his adult years were spent in Calgary & Red Deer where he grew his circle even more. The outpouring of love to the family from his friends in all of these communities has been tremendous and we are grateful.

Rick was predeceased by his father Joe Severin; his brother Joey Severin; step brother James Carrington; niece Shanna Dodman; his grandparents Hugh & Oreen McLIvena; grandmother Anna Severin; his beloved Dani Eddy; and sadly way too many friends.

According to Rick, his greatest accomplishment was becoming a father to Abel Severin. He was never prouder or happier than when with him, and I know my brother well enough to say his biggest regret is leaving earth-side while his heart remains here with his son.

Left to grieve with heavy hearts are his mother Patti Severin (Gary Carrington); Bob McILvena (uncle); Debbie Coyne-Snodgrass (aunt); Gary Severin (uncle); Tamilyn Severin (sister); Shannon (Mark) and Amy Carrington; Sarah (Clayton) Pelletier (step siblings); Clayton and David Severin, Sebastian Pelletier, Caleb Kormish, and Eric Severin (nephews); Haley Kormish, Abbey Pelletier, Tyler Pelletier, Payton Tilton, and Cj Summer Russo (nieces); Sarah, Nate and Aaron Severin, and Ian McLivena, Caitlyn and JJ Crossan (cousins); as well as numerous other family members and a plethora of amazing friends and aching hearts.

May we all find comfort in the fact he is no longer suffering and is at peace surrounded in love by those who went before him.

Rest Easy Mr. Man, So loved are you. ❤️
