Richard Camille St. Pierre

May the winds of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear how much we love you and miss you and wish you were here. But an angel came, called your name, and took you by his hand.

So, it is with deep love and sadness that the family of Richard St. Pierre announces his passing on October 12th, 2025, at the age of 91 at the Chinook Care Centre, to be with his heavenly father, after a long and fulfilling life. A life that included family, faith, decades of extensive volunteer work including the Calgary Police Services, the Calgary Stampede, Past President of the Chinook Park Community Association and a passion for bird carving that brought him great joy. A joy that sustained him right up to his last days at the Care Centre. 

He was a beloved life companion, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and carving instructor whose presence will be dearly missed. 

Richard leaves behind his long-term companion and best friend Ms. Rae Young. Four sons Bernie of Calgary, Mark (Shawna) of Calgary, Dan (Loretta) of Calgary, Allan (Robyn) of Los Angeles. Seven grandchildren Ben (Mary), Nicole Divina (Jeremy), Shannon Tabor (Jason), Jason (Michanta), Adam (Masami), Christa Marie and Skye (Mackenzie) all of Calgary and eight great-grandchildren Lucas, Leo, Isaiah, Ethan, Nolan, Athena, Freyja, Heimdallr, who he adored and would light up when they would visit. Richard also had a truly unique and loving lifelong relationship with John Jacobson.

The family would like to extend its deepest appreciation to the entire team at Chinook Care Centre, for their exceptional and compassionate care of Richard for the past three years and allowing him to set up a personal workshop in his residence where he loved to carve literally hundreds of birds during his stay and share them with other residents, staff and care givers. It brought him great joy.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Gerard's Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary) on November 6, 2025 at 11:00am, with Father Ignatius Tran officiating.
