Richard was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario and lived on the family farm. He moved to Calgary at the age of six and lived the rest of his life in Calgary. He spent many years in the construction industry working as a framer and managing crews. Richard lived his life on his own terms, he was a very determined and caring person. He kept his mother and dear friends close.
Richard passed away suddenly with family beside him. Richard is survived by his mother Judy Cochran, brother Gord Irvine (Carolynn Gunn), nieces Breanna and Jocelynn, aunts and uncle Sharon Crozier, Patricia Bourget, and Janet and Glen Dickey and numerous cousins. Richard was predeceased by his father Lyn Irvine (Connie) and aunt Wanda McLellan.
