On November 19, 2021, Rhoda Grace Elizabeth Thompson (nee McNeil), a loving, giving, and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at home due to complications from diabetes.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Gordon and their children John, Patricia (Richard), and Lisa (Corey); and grandsons Evan, Eric, and Zackary; as well as daughter Cara and grandson Jordan; and granddaughters Haley and Emma; and great-grandson Jaxon. Also by grandson Matthew Allan, two brothers and two sisters, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both parents; and sisters Debbie and Helen.
Rhoda was born in Burnaby, BC in 1952 and met her future husband Gordon in Fort St John, BC in 1971. They were married in Calgary in 1972 and lived there ever since. She enjoyed travelling and loved the ocean. Rhoda was always ready to help anyone in need if she could and was very proud of her clan. The last five years health-wise were a challenge. She is hopefully now at peace with her two sisters; especially Helen who passed earlier this year. She is already deeply missed.
Per her request, there will be no funeral or celebration of life and a request for no flowers.
