It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that the family of Randal “Randy” Harold Becker announces his unexpected passing on November 10, 2022, at the age of 62. Randy was born on July 17, 1960, in Edson, Alberta to Donna Korstad (nee Hutchinson) and Fred Becker.
He leaves behind his daughter Allison; his mother Donna (Gary Korstad), their children Sherry (Kevin), Wendy, and Darrell; his father Fred (Doris) Becker, their children Natalie and Raymond (Carol), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents Harold and Phyllis Hutchinson.
His Daughter Allison filled his life and gave him a renewed purpose. He would do all he could for his cherished daughter- Yes even getting her a first car, which he spent time in the Greenhill Garage getting it ready for her and then servicing and maintaining it.
As Randy established himself in Calgary, he worked in the Heavy Truck industry primarily as a parts tech. His depth of knowledge in this industry was a great asset for all the companies he worked for.
Grandpa Harold in Edson planted the seeds for Randy’s love of nature and animals.
He had a tight bond with his dog Shultz, whether hunting ducks, fishing, or just out in nature. Shultz would be by his side.
As a long-time resident of Greenhill Crescent plans are coming together for an alley party in remembrance of Randy.
The many hours – weekends spent in the garage working on vehicles, a trusted and knowledgeable backyard mechanic. Friends were always around. Randy held numerous close friendships.
A Memorial Service will be held at Evan J. Strong Funeral Services (5502 2 St. SW) on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
An interment will follow in the summer in Edson, Alberta.
