Picola Petrus

Petrus Picola, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in Calgary, Canada, on September 3rd, 2025, at the age of 65.

Born on June 10, 1960, in Jakarta, Indonesia, Picola was a proud alumnus of Canisius College, Class of 1979, a school he cherished deeply. Known for his hardworking spirit, friendliness, humor, and easygoing nature, he made friends wherever he went.

Picola had a long and dedicated career with PT Telkom Indonesia. His work took him on many journeys, moving 14 times between Jakarta and Papua. It was in Papua that he met the love of his life, his devoted wife.

He had a passion for music and enjoyed playing whenever he could. Recently, his family discovered his hidden talent for drawing, revealing yet another layer of his creative spirit. Picola also loved nature, particularly the mountains, finding joy and peace in their beauty.

In June 2025, Picola moved with his wife to Calgary, Canada, after receiving permanent residency. His health took a sudden turn in August 2025 when he was diagnosed with Chronic Neutrophilic Leukemia (CNL). On September 2, he suffered a stroke, which led to brain bleeding and, ultimately, his passing.

Picola leaves behind a loving family, though his family mourns the loss, they take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, surrounded by love and remembered fondly by everyone who knew him.

He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, creativity, and the warmth he brought into every life he touched.
