Phyllis Fraser Obituary

Phyll Fraser from Chilliwack and then Kamloops BC, aged 93, passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB, on November 22,2024.

Phyll was born in Chilliwack where she met and married Wes Fraser in 1952 and moved to Kamloops in 1953, where they raised two daughters, Lynne and Lana.

Phyll loved being involved with the local Lions club, was a wicked Canasta player, and enjoyed golfing and gardening when she lived in Rayleigh, but her passions were playing the piano (by ear – she couldn’t read a note) creating beautiful oil paintings and her daughters.  Her paintings are the legacy she leaves to her family.

She loved to dance, was quick witted and wore a smile on her face most of the time.  She had a deep love for animals and was often sharing stories of her childhood dog Sandy and of the many hours they spent together on their family’s dairy farm.

Phyll moved from Kamloops to Calgary in 2020 to be closer to her daughters.  She lived at Seton Age Care where she made several new friends, participated in various activities and was able to play the resident piano regularly.  It was a special time for Lynne and Lana who spent time with her taking many drives in the country, enjoying holiday celebrations and having family meals together.

Phyll is survived by her daughters Lynne and Lana, her grand daughter Kari, her great grandchildren Carter and Sophie along with Lynne’s husband George and Kari’s husband Andy.

Phyll had a wonderful grandson Danny, who predeceased her, as well as one older sister, Goldie Street, who also predeceased her.

Phyll lived a robust life surrounded by friends and family and she will be missed by many.

She did not wish to have an end-of-life celebration.  In lieu of flowers, if you wish to donate to your favourite charity, please do so, and think of Phyll as the donation is made.
