Patrick Kelly Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Pat on Sunday, May 3, 2026 who left us peacefully at home in his favorite recliner, with his beloved puppies by his side.

Pat was born in Sudbury, Ontario, and made his way to Calgary as a young man, where he built a life filled with hard work, friendship, and simple joys. He spent the majority of his career working in stucco, a trade he took pride in, and through which he formed many lifelong friendships.

Pat was known for his easygoing nature, his warm smile, and his steady, calming presence. He was outgoing, fun-loving, and had a natural way with people—and animals, who seemed to love him just as much as he loved them. Over the years, he shared his life with many loyal dogs who were always close by his side.

He found great happiness in the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and gathering around bonfires with friends. He was also incredibly handy and creative, always ready to lend a hand or build something with care.

One of the most meaningful chapters of Pat’s life began years ago when he became a proud stepfather. He cherished every moment spent with his stepdaughter and later his grandson, who brought him immense joy and pride. About 10 years ago, he found his devoted forever friend Joan, with whom he shared his life and laughter with.

Pat is predeceased by his father and is survived by his mother Circa, his older brother Shane Kelly, several nieces and nephews, his stepdaughter Keanna (Mike), his beloved grandson Abel, and his abundance of family friends.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We take comfort in imagining him being reunited with his dear friends, forever at peace perhaps sitting by a quiet fire or casting a line into still waters.
