Patricia Anna Thera

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Anna Thera, known affectionately as Patty, on May 20, 2025. Patty was more than a Sister and friend; she was a beacon of light and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her infectious laughter filled every room she entered, and her quick wit never failed to brighten the spirits of those around her. Patty had a way of making everyone feel cherished and special, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.

Born on May 8th, 1958, in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Patty lived a life marked by many challenges, but her passion, love and creativity always shone through. Patty demonstrated an interest in art at a very young age and was known for her unique ability to create custom leather works. Anyone who knew her will agree that she had a unique, remarkable, and distinctive outlook on life. She cherished the moments of freedom and exhilaration that came with taking her Harley out for a spin, especially when squeezed in between those long-haul truck-driving shifts.  All who knew her understood those bike rides were a precious opportunity to feel exhilarated and alive.

Patty is lovingly remembered by her brothers Barry Thera (Katherine Thera), Gregory Thera, Kelvin Thera, as well as her sister, Cynthia Tataryn, nee Thera (Pete Tataryn). She is also survived by her niece, Kaylee Thera; nephews Bruce Thera and Jacob Stanton; and step-children, Timothy Himmelspeck and Laura Himmelspeck, who will carry on her memory with fondness and appreciation. Patty was predeceased by her mother, Olga Cotten, nee Krakalovich, (Russell Cotten), and father, James D. Thera.

Though she is no longer among us, Patty's spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will remain a source of inspiration and strength.

Rest in peace, dear Patty. Your light will never dim, and you will always be cherished and remembered with love.
