Nina Pershyna

The family of Nina Pershyna is deeply saddened to announce her passing on June 23, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on November 13, 1931, in Ukraine, Kharkiv region, she was the daughter of the late Grigori and Anna Reshetnyak.

She lived a difficult life, left with her mother, two brothers, and a sister without a father at the age of ten during the difficult times of World War II. After the war, despite all the difficulties, she managed to graduate from a teacher training college and taught school.

In 1952, she met and fell in love with a first-class military pilot, Nikolai Pershin, and in 1953, their son, Alexander, was born. At that time, Ukraine was part of the USSR, and the family moved to Anadyr in the Far North due to the demands of military service. Nina learned a new profession and worked in a military unit.

They returned to Ukraine five years later, and Nina again had to master a new profession. All these and subsequent years, Nina devoted all her energy and love to her family, brothers, sisters, and her mother. She sang beautifully and had acting talent. Friends and family remember her joy of life and cheerful disposition. She was an excellent worker and was valued by her team.
In 1982, her husband was in a car accident, leaving her widowed. After her husband's death, she remained steadfast and continued to live life to the fullest, devoting all her energy and care to her mother, brothers, sisters, son, and grandchildren.

In 2013, her son moved her to Canada, where she lived for 13 years.

Nina will be lovingly remembered and deeply mourned by her son, Alexander, his wife, and her two beloved grandchildren, Maxim and Inna. Her brothers and sister predeceased her.
