Michael Kelly, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 82, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer.
Michael was born on April 19, 1943, he spent his life in Calgary, Alberta, where he built a legacy of hard work, love, and resilience.
A gifted mechanic by trade and passion, Michael found joy in fixing cars and helping others keep their wheels turning. Whether under the hood or lending a hand to a neighbor, he was always ready to roll up his sleeves and do what needed to be done. His garage was often filled not only with tools and engines, but with laughter, stories, and friends stopping by.
More than anything, Michael was a family man.
He is survived by a large and loving family, each of whom he cherished deeply. His loving wife of 61 years, Sandra. Their three children, Terry, Maureen (Matt), Shannon (Richard). Eight grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. His unwavering love, silly sense of humour and quiet strength will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass will be held in his honour on Wednesday July 16, 2025, at St Michael’s Catholic Church 800 85 St SW at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Michael’s memory.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
