Mervin Easton passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta. He was 91.

Mervin was born in Hamilton, Ontario to Russell and Armeda Easton.

He was the oldest of five siblings; Jack, Cathy, Sylvia, and Tony.

Mervin and Hazel had three sons: Brian (Sheila), Barry and Bill (Melanie); grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Kristin, Miranda, Jordan, Sean, Brett and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Jessica, Joshua, Raina, Natasha, Noah, Allie, Emily, Jude, Ruby, Lunabelle and Roxy; and one great-great-grandchild, Kwentyn.

Mervin grew up in Jordan Station where he won the Ontario Juvenile Fastball Championship.

He married the love of his life, Hazel Irene Dobrindt, on July 22, 1950. This year they were married 70 years!

Mervin owned “Merv Easton and Sons Construction Company” for decades building homes, churches, and even a bowling alley, among other projects.

He was Scout Leader for the 1st Jordan Scout Troop for 15 years.

Mervin loved his time at Raven Lake, a get away in the Muskoka’s that the whole family enjoyed.

He moved to Huntsville, Ontario to semi-retire, operating along with his wife “Hazel’s Treasures”, an antique store where he was the treasure mender. He volunteered for the Muskoka Pioneer Village where he was the Train Conductor on the Muskoka Portage Flyer, a position he loved.

In 2004 Merv and Hazel retired to High River, Alberta, and the Rockies. Merv volunteered at the High River Friendship Centre before moving to Calgary, Alberta.
