Marvin Samuel Broad

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin Samuel Broad.

He was born on May 1, 1952, in Paris, Ontario, where his love for music, sports, and wide-open spaces first began.

Marvin lived with deep appreciation for life’s simple joys — a smooth golf swing, the sound of a timeless tune, and watching every Habs game.

But golf was not just a pastime — it was a way of life for him. The course gave him structure, clarity, and a place to connect with others. Whether in Ontario, Arizona, or Alberta, Marvin built lasting friendships tied together by his love of the game and his easygoing nature.

His independence, great taste in classical music and movies, and how he always made time for others, in small and meaningful ways, will never be forgotten.

Marvin is survived by his children — Katelyn, Brittany, David Broad, and his stepdaughter, Jennifer Smith. He will also be remembered by extended family and the many of friends whose lives he has brightened along the way.

To honour Marvin’s life and the causes close to his and his daughter, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
