Marlyn Grover, cherished wife, mother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer. She was born in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, Philippines, and was the eldest daughter and second child of Protacio Velasco and Primitiva Arcangel, among seven children.
Marlyn was a devoted mother to her five children, Erlyn, Ernesto Jr., Mario Lorenze, Mark, and Erico. In November 2001, she made the selfless decision to leave the Philippines, determined to create a better future for her family. Her journey was marked by immense love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to her children's well-being.
In 2002, Marlyn's life changed forever when she met the love of her life, Ron Grover. Their connection grew quickly, leading to their joyful marriage in 2004. Their union was a beautiful testament to their deep bond and shared dreams, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments.
Marlyn's battle with cancer was fought with remarkable strength and resilience, inspiring everyone who knew her. Despite the immense challenges, her spirit remained unbroken, and her love for her family and friends was unwavering. Her legacy of love, perseverance, and compassion lives on
through her children and family. Marlyn will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Marlyn is survived by her devoted husband, Ron Grover; her five children, Erlyn Dungao, Ernesto Magalong Jr., Mario Lorenze Magalong (Rizalin), Mark Andrew Magalong (Patrizia) and Erico Miguel Magalong (Raina); her six cherished grandchildren, Angelica Magalong, Sophia Dungao, Darren Magalong, Andrae Magalong, Natalie Dungao and Markus Magalong; her siblings, Rogelio Velasco, Evelyn Velasco, Lilia Ferrer, Belinda Andaya and Samuel Velasco, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Marlyn was predeceased by her father, Protacio Cardeno Velasco; mother, Primitiva Aquino Velasco; and brother, Protacio Velasco.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St Paul's Catholic Church (1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB) on Saturday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m.
