Mark James Meachem

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark James Meachem, who left us on the morning of March 18, 2025, at the age of 46. Born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, and raised mostly in Kelowna, BC, Mark’s life was filled with deep love, strong friendships, and unforgettable moments.

Mark is survived by his beloved mother, Ann Meachem of Kelowna, BC, and his two cherished sons, Colby (17) and Kashis (6), whom he adored beyond words. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Tracy Broxham (Kelly) of Edmonton, AB, and his treasured nieces, Kiersten (21) and Tristyn (11). His family meant everything to him, and his love for them was boundless.

Mark had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, making friends everywhere he went. His warm smile and infectious energy made him a joy to be around. He loved deeply and unconditionally, always opening his heart to those who shared his passion for life and loyalty.

He took great pride in his time working in the oilfield, where he built lasting friendships and found fulfillment in his work. Tragically, a workplace accident altered the course of his life, leading to years of medical struggles, numerous surgeries, and the difficult battle with mental health and addiction that followed. Despite his resilience and the love that surrounded him, these struggles ultimately took their toll.

Mark’s passing leaves an immense void in the lives of his family and closest friends. While we grieve the loss of such a vibrant soul, we also choose to remember the love, laughter, and unforgettable moments he gave us. May he finally find the peace that eluded him for so long.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held in our family graveyard in Saskatchewan.  In honor of his memory, the family encourages donations to mental health or addiction recovery programs to support those facing similar battles.
