Where to start? Our beloved husband, father, and pepere, Marcel Joseph Laurent Verrier, has left this earth to keep on riding to another destination. He passed away on October 2, 2023, at the Foothills ICU after an accident he had on his motorcycle, on August 27, 2023. For 36 days we got to say our goodbyes.
Marcel was born on January 30, 1952, in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He had many memories of being raised on Bertrand Street. We would walk through his old neighborhood, and he would explain who lived at almost every house. He never forgot his roots and kept up many friendships from his childhood.
He had a very romantic life; 14 girlfriends he would tell us! But on July 16, 1982, he married the love of his life, and they had 41 incredible years together. On November 18, 1982, they had their son Stephan and on September 10, 1986, they had their son Sean Paul.
Marcel worked at numerous jobs throughout his life, including Northwest Cycle, Associates Finance, the Bank of Montreal, and then his dream job of 23 years, Honda Canada. His job with Honda Canada moved him and the family to Calgary in 1991. There was lots of exploring to do and Marcel did just that. Every week he took the family camping, skiing, or motorcycling to a different spot. There was a famous Christmas card sent out every year of the Verriers standing beside all the different motorcycles Marcel had over the years.
In retirement, Marcel & Kerry toured Canada and the United States on many extended motorcycle trips. They also got to enjoy wintering in Mexico & Arizona. Marcel will be missed by all who knew & loved him.
He is survived by his wife Kerry, his son Stephan, along with his wife Lindsay, and their children Della and Joseph, and his son Sean Paul, along with his fiancé Camila. He will also be missed by his many, many friends and neighbours he has made over his 71 years. He was the godfather of MacEwan Park Close.
Till we ride together again ïïï
