Lorene Clarke Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorene Clarke on May 21, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 91.

Born on July 4, 1933, in Warner, Alberta, Lorene lived a full and vibrant life marked by strength, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a fiercely loving mother to her five children: David Galloway (Allison), Randy Halsted (Becky), Ross Halsted (Gwen), Shelley Halsted, and Dale Halsted (Marla). She was also a proud stepmother to Brad Clarke (Gloria), and Melodie Anne Parkes (Graham). Lorene was a devoted grandmother to 17 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to 5 great-grandchildren.

Lorene deeply cherished family gatherings and brought warmth and love to every occasion. She was known for her spirited competitiveness when it came to cards and board games—never one to back down from a challenge and always playing to win.

Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she stood by them with courage, honesty, and an unshakable sense of what was right.

Lorene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Clarke, with whom she shared many cherished years.

A woman of great poise and dignity, Lorene was always impeccably dressed, with a love for classy clothes and elegant jewelry. She had a deep passion for travel and embraced life’s adventures with openness and enthusiasm. Her integrity and bravery were matched only by her style and grace.

Lorene took great pride in maintaining a warm and welcoming home and was meticulous at housekeeping. She also found joy in her gardening, where she lovingly tended to each flowerpot, arranging them in beautifully coordinated colors that reflected her keen eye for detail and beauty.

Lorene will be remembered for her sharp mind, kind heart, and the example she set through the way she lived. Her memory lives in the hearts of her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her.

A gathering of close friends and family will be held in her honor. If anyone wishes, we kindly suggest a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society in Lorene’s memory.
