Liette (St. Gelais) Scheiris

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Liette Scheiris (St. Gelais) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

For 77 years, 10 months, and 16 days of her life, she made her mark on this world with joy, love and laughter to all those who were blessed to know her.  For the rest of the world that didn't know her, well it was truly their loss.

Liette was the funniest, happiest and most loving person to have on your side.  She never failed to hug you “heart to heart”; and she never failed to show you how much you meant to her.  Through all of her tribulations in life, a smile was always seen on her face. She simply didn't know how not to have a good time. She believed love made the world go round, and if that was truly the case, she had the earth on her very own merry-go-round! Live as she did and believe in her favourite motto... “Don't grow up, it's a trap!”.

With that being said, we want to utilize this platform to encourage all of you reading this, to hug your loved ones tonight, call your mom, or simply smile at a stranger.

Please remember for those she has left behind it is an ending. For Liette it is a new beginning. Be at peace, because she has arrived resting in illuminated light dancing amongst the stars.

In conclusion, we would like to share the final excerpt from Liette in her words directly from a book she was attempting to write on her life; a memoir titled My Truth, My Story:

“What I want my family to learn from my story is quite simple.  No matter what abuse, what challenges, or what hurdles you encounter in your life; you can overcome anything. In life, there is a lesson in everything. Take that lesson and make it a part of you. That's why things repeat in this life because you didn’t learn the lesson the first time. Take your life lesson and grow from it.

I rebuilt my life in my 60’s and what I have is because I earned it. I look around at my surroundings and I take pride in what I have accomplished. I look around and see that I have found ME.

I have had many blessings in my life, starting with my four children and then my beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Finally, I was blessed yet again with my chi gong and shamanism and the spirituality I now practice.  As many blessings as I may have, you have read how many misfortunes I had as well. I learned to overcome, forgiving myself first, and then forgiving others.  The spiritual action that changed my path was simply this: “Don't be IN love, BE LOVE”. I strive to live this every day.

As I have been on my journey, I now realize and accept that all of my children are on their own journey to do the same and learn the lessons they need to live through in this lifetime. I send my love and blessings for them to walk through their fears and all the while creating the beautiful and wondrous gifts, they all possess into a lifetime of happiness.  I wish you all well, wish you love, and wish you contentment in finding who you are; I love you more than you will ever know.

And this, my beautiful, loved ones, is my Truth; my Story.
