Letty was a strong, independent woman with a firm and profound love, whose life was marked by resilience, courage, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was also an entrepreneurial and brave woman who carried her family forward through hard work and determination. She instilled in her children the value of hard work, perseverance, and dignity in every step of life.

A true fighter, she faced life with determination and heart, remaining firm in her values and in her belief in dignity, equality, and love. She was progressive in spirit and in the way she lived her life for her time, always striving to make the world a better place not only for herself, but also for others.

Letty was deeply committed to social justice, dedicating her time and energy to supporting causes in Chile, Cuba, and other communities. In particular, she supported women in mothers’ centers in Chile, offering help, companionship, and strength to those who needed it most, always present for others and her neighbors. She actively participated in community work and fundraising efforts rooted in compassion, dignity, and equality. Her life reflected a strong conviction to stand up for others and fight for justice. Her legacy lives on in the values she left in all who knew her.

Above all, she was a devoted mother whose love was constant, selfless, and unwavering. Her strength shaped us, her dedication sustained us, and her love continues to guide us throughout our lives.

She is deeply loved and remembered by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family in Canada and Chile, who will carry her memory forever in their hearts.

Letty fue una mujer fuerte, independiente y de amor firme y profundo, cuya vida estuvo marcada por la resiliencia, el coraje y una devoción inquebrantable hacia su familia. Fue también una mujer emprendedora y valiente, que sacó adelante a su familia con esfuerzo y determinación. Comerciante de espíritu y de acción, inculcó en sus hijos el valor del trabajo duro, la perseverancia y la dignidad en cada paso de la vida.

Una verdadera luchadora, enfrentó la vida con determinación y corazón, manteniéndose firme en sus valores y en su creencia en la dignidad, la igualdad y el amor. Fue progresiva en espíritu y en la forma en que vivió su vida para su época, siempre buscando hacer del mundo un lugar mejor no solo para ella, sino también para los demás.

Letty estuvo profundamente comprometida con la justicia social, dedicando su tiempo y energía al apoyo de causas en Chile, Cuba y otras comunidades. En especial, apoyó a mujeres en centros de madres en Chile, brindando ayuda, compañía y fuerza a quienes más lo necesitaban, siempre presente para el prójimo y sus vecinos. Participó activamente en el trabajo comunitario y en actividades de recaudación de fondos basadas en la compasión, la dignidad y la igualdad. Su vida reflejó una firme convicción de defender a otros y luchar por la justicia. Su legado vive en los valores que dejó en todos quienes la conocieron.

Sobre todo, fue una madre dedicada cuyo amor fue constante, desinteresado e inquebrantable. Su fortaleza nos formó, su entrega nos sostuvo, y su amor continúa guiándonos a lo largo de nuestras vidas.

Es profundamente amada y recordada por su esposo, hijos, nietos, bisnietos y familia extendida en Canadá y Chile, quienes llevarán su memoria siempre en el corazón.

Details for celebration of life 

A Celebration of Life for Letty Astudillo Saavedra will be held on May 10, 2026, at Empanada Queen, 4412 Manilla Road SE, Calgary, AB T2G 4B7.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM  to honor and celebrate her life. We hope to create a warm, positive, and joyful space to remember her and the love she shared with all of us.

The formal program will take place from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and will begin with opening remarks, followed by family tributes. Music will accompany this time of remembrance as we reflect on and celebrate her life. Closing remarks will conclude the formal portion of the gathering.

From 3:00 PM onward, guests are welcome to remain for a casual reception, with an open mic available for those who wish to share memories or words in her honor.

All who knew and loved Letty are warmly welcome.

Se llevará a cabo una Celebración de la vida de Letty Astudillo Saavedra el 10 de mayo de 2026 en Empanada Queen, 4412 Manilla Road SE, Calgary, AB T2G 4B7.

Familiares y amigos están invitados a reunirse de 1:00 p. m. a 4:00 p. m. para honrar y celebrar su vida. Esperamos crear un espacio cálido, positivo y alegre para recordarla y el amor que compartió con todos nosotros.

El programa formal se llevará a cabo de 2:00 p. m. a 3:00 p. m. y comenzará con unas palabras de bienvenida, seguidas de homenajes familiares. La música acompañará este momento de recuerdo mientras reflexionamos y celebramos su vida. Las palabras de clausura concluirán la parte formal de la reunión.

A partir de las 3:00 p.m, los invitados pueden quedarse para una recepción informal, con micrófono abierto para quienes deseen compartir recuerdos o palabras en su honor. Todos los que conocieron y quisieron a Letty son bienvenidos.
