Lance Selby

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Lance Selby passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 71 years old.

Lance is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Loretta, his brother, Guy Selby (Judy), sister Patti Walkeden (Les) and his aunt, Esme Fleming. He is survived by his stepbrothers Paul (Brenda) and Grant Waddell (Stephanie) as well as brother-in-law Ron Kuntz (Maggie) and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He had many loyal friends as was a loyal friend to many.

Lance was predeceased by his parents, Mona and Bill Selby and his stepfather Bill Waddell, as well as his nieces Janel and Jessica Selby.

Lance loved playing golf and slo-pitch and enjoyed watching all his favourite teams. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends every chance he had.

He liked to show his tough persona but in reality, he had a big kind and caring heart. Lance will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

At Lance’s request there will be no memorial service held. A private family celebration will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the

Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta NWT & Nunavut or the Alberta Children’s Hospital in memory of Janel Selby.

Weep not for me though I am gone

Upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.

For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,

Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
