Julian "Jules" Richard Sanders

It is with great sadness that the Sanders family announces the passing of Julian “Jules” Richard Sanders following a long battle with cancer. Julian was predeceased by his father, Richard Sanders. He is survived by his mother, Enid Sanders; his sister and best friend, Sarah Sanders; his brother, Edward (Bridget) Sanders of Oregon; and his nephews and nieces Daniel (Jessica), Emily, Niamh, and Timothy. He also leaves behind his much-loved cats, Shandy and Silvester.

Julian is a graduate of the University of Calgary in electrical engineering and a VP at Morgan Stanley (Calgary). In his spare time, Julian was a gregarious and avid recreational baseball player in Calgary for decades, liking nothing better than to play a game or two of ball and then hang out after the game, sharing a beverage or two with his baseball buddies. Julian was also a devoted Boston Red Sox fan, and just like many baseball fanatics he even refused his sister from phoning him during their games, lest she jinxed them and they lose! He was also a great cook and a superb handyman for his family and friends, doing everything with precision and style.

In honour of Julian’s love of baseball, his family asks that in lieu of flowers would you kindly donate to the upcoming 2022 Canadian Little League Championship being hosted in Calgary in August. Proceeds will go to helping deserving young players attend this national tournament that may have difficulty raising the money otherwise. Jules would have loved this – supporting the next generation of ball players!
