Joyce Vera LeMay

It is with great sadness, the family announces that on Thursday, November 27, 2024, Joyce Vera LeMay of Calgary passed away. Joyce is survived by her daughter Dayna and husband Darren, Dione and partner Sabbas, and her grandchildren Kendra and husband Mat, Cassie and James, and her sister Shirley. Joyce is predeceased by her husband Larry and her parents, Rose and Mike Chosnyk.

Joyce loved spending time with her family and beloved dog Pickles. Her fondest memories were of trips to Hawaii with Larry and the girls and the two of them enjoyed a trip of a lifetime in Fiji. Her love of Ukrainian food made her the best cook and her ability to create a feast every holiday with homemade perogies and cabbage rolls was nothing short of amazing. She also enjoyed wing nights at her favourite pub along with an icy cold dill pickle Caesar. Saturday morning breakfasts with her 3 amigos (and especially the 4 amigos when her daughter Dione could join) were also a weekly highlight.

Joyce had one hobby that never wavered over the years; reading the many thousands of books she collected. She never left a trip to the library or bookstore empty handed. She also loved to paint, crochet and petit point. Her love of books led to her career at the Edmonton Public Library and the Edmonton Courthouse.

Mom was an amazing woman and the memories she created will never be forgotten. She was taken too soon and has left a huge hole in our hearts.
