John Warren Foote

John Warren Foote of Calgary passed away peacefully on October 16, 2020 at the age of 68 years after a long struggle with his health.

Born in Port Arthur, Ontario, John moved to Calgary with his family in 1961, and graduated Viscount Bennett High School and SAIT. He made his career as an electrical designer in the oil and natural gas industry. His talents were at genius level and he was in high demand in his field.

John leaves to mourn his wife of 25 years Linda Jenkins and their dear Yorki, Lodi. Also left to mourn is his step-daughter Kimberly (Kent); three grandchildren; brother-in-law Dan (Alena); his loving siblings, Sharon, Dennis (Elaine), Adrienne and Janis (Richard); as well as four nephews, three nieces, a gaggle of great-nephews and nieces, and his many friends and colleagues. John was predeceased by his beloved parents, Borghild and Jason Foote.

John fully enjoyed his life. Deep sea fishing, camping in the great outdoors, golfing with his buddies (especially the Ugly Eagle Tournament). But most of all John loved his time with Linda in their favourite places…Hawaii, Roatan, Palm Springs, and top of the list was their home and beautiful yard.

We who loved John are so grateful that his suffering is over. He tried so hard to get stronger and wanted so much to continue living, to continue loving his Linda and once again be the one to take care of her and share their happy life to the fullest. But his poor physical heart let him down despite how determined his mind and soul were.

He has left us far too soon, leaving an empty place in our hearts and lives. We will always remember John’s gentle humour, his charm and unfailing kindness to help our spirits heal. A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
