With our hearts overflowing with love and memories, we announce the passing of our Oma, mother, sister, and friend. Born in a time of great strife in her beloved Holland, amongst the tulips and windmills, she spent most of her life in Calgary and Winnipeg, Canada.
Anne touched everyone she knew, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of her children Jim and Janet, their partners Kathy, Todd, and June, her eldest granddaughter Brittney Anne and her partner Terence, her twin granddaughters Jessica and Melissa, her sister and nine brothers, and countless other family members and friends. She has been reunited with those who have passed before, including her son Arnie, her husband Hank, her Oma Johanna, her parents Cornelia and Arnold, her best friend Ali, and her brother Ted.
She will be most remembered for her spunky energy, her deep love (and criticism) of her sports teams, her independence and spirit, her award-winning handwork, her impeccable garden, and her endless love for those she held most dear. It has been a great honour to know her in this life, and she will be forever in our hearts. Ik hou van jou - je bent nu vrij.
In lieu of flowers, please honour Oma by making a donation to those less fortunate, such as a women's shelter or food bank. Photos, memories, and condolences may be shared with Anne’s family here.
