Joanne Adele (Hefford) Duggan

Born July 22, 1979, in St. John’s, NL, Joanne passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 14, 2025, in Calgary, AB, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved daughter of Neil and Sandra Hefford, Joanne is deeply missed by her devoted husband and life partner of 30 years, Dion; sister Robyn Holmgren (Dean); brother Shane Hefford (Ashley); and seven cherished nieces and nephews — Isaiah, Evie, Lily-Belle, Julien, Adrien, Conor, and Brianna.

Joanne embraced life with passion and adventure, loving travel, camping, and especially hiking — finding joy and strength in every climb. A lifelong athlete, she played volleyball, basketball, and competitive soccer until a life-changing injury in 2007, after which she faced challenges with resilience and grace.

Joanne’s bond with Dion began in their youth on a neighborhood basketball court and grew into a remarkable lifelong partnership. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and ability to make lasting friendships.

A dedicated oil and gas accountant for over 16 years, Joanne brought enthusiasm and pride to her work, sharing her knowledge with those around her. Her determination, optimism, and zest for life continue to inspire all who knew her.
