With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Harold James (Jim) English, who peacefully left us on June 30, 2024, at Southwood Care Centre.
Jim leaves behind his sons, Jeffery (Maureen) and Douglas; grandchildren Madison (Omari), Kennedy (Ron), and Pierce; great-grandson Arden; and brother David (Nan).
Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sylvia English, and daughter, Laurie Leuschner. We are quite certain that the three of them will be having a “friendly” game of Yahtzee together, now that they are reunited.
Known affectionately as "Happy Jim," Jim was always eager to share a story about growing up on boats, involving tales of “big fish.” He was quick to offer life advice to all his children and grandchildren, which was always received with affection.
Born on September 2, 1939, in Midland, he moved his family westward, making homes in Ontario, Manitoba, and finally settling in Calgary, Alberta.
Jim was passionate about his work in real estate, forming many lifelong friendships with both colleagues and clients.
Harold James (Jim) will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.
May he rest in peace, embraced by the eternal light of God's love.
