James 'Gordon' White Obituary

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of such a wonderful son, brother, father, uncle, husband, grandfather, and friend.

James Gordon White passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021, at the age of 88 years old in Calgary, Alberta with family by his side. He was born in Irving Saskatchewan March 21, 1933. He grew up in Saskatchewan and eventually resided in Calgary, Alberta where is worked for the City of Calgary. It is also where he caught the eye of his love Doreen White. Gordie and Doreen married on October 22, 1975. Gordie spent many years providing for his family, he was also the President of the Foster Care Association. He helped support, love, and care for hundreds of children in need of a loving home. He was a very hard-working man and never missed a day of work inside or outside of the home.

As many knew, Gordie loved to fish always going after the great one! He loved a good ol baseball game on TV and enjoyed watching his Calgary Flames play.

Gordie is survived by his wife Doreen of 45 years, his brother Doug (Linda), and 7 children: Miles (Karen), Danny (Laura), Debbie, Dawn (Len), Rod (Kendall), Ursula, and Donna.  He also had 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at the Rockyview Hospital for their compassionate care of our husband and dad.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
