Iona Miller Dion

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Iona Miller on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Predeceased by her loving husband Yvon. Survived by her daughter Jacqueline (Lawrence),  remaining siblings, Keith (Linda), Gilbert and Gordon (Lillian), and many nieces and nephews.

Mom moved to Calgary in November of 2019 to be with her daughter Jackie. She loved Calgary but always missed her home in Arundel, Quebec.

Anyone who knew Iona knew that her door was always open to chat and were greeted with the warmest smile. You always found her watching Y&R or her favorite team the Montréal Canadians,  knitting needles in hand or doing a puzzle. If you couldn’t find her in her room she would be playing bingo, or cards with her friends.  

Many of her friends and family received knitted toques, scarfs and gloves over the years to keep us Canadians warm and cherished.

She loved to attend the “Back Alley” group picnics, where she helped prepare the food and presentation.

She will be missed by her K9 buddies Chichi, Georgie, Chika and Yuki, who she babysat from time to time.

Many thanks to her care team for taking such good care of my mom.

As per my mom’s wishes  she will be buried alongside her loving husband, Yvon, in Huberdeau, Quebec.
