Helga Gerda Paula (Binneboese) Klimpel

Helga Gerda Paula Klimpel (née Binneboese) October 1, 1929 – April 10, 2026, Helga passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at the age of 96 in Calgary, Alberta in the company of family.

Helga was born in Berlin, Germany, on October 1, 1929, and immigrated to Canada in 1953. She arrived in Montreal in 1953 with her husband Lothar Anton, and 5-year-old son Detlev.

The family later welcomed a daughter, Daina. Helga loved her family, but also greatly missed her extended family back in Germany. She later moved to Calgary. She had a smile that would light up any room, and she enjoyed having a coffee and chatting with friends.

Not one to sit idle, she always had something on the go from various needlework to gardening. She enjoyed music to dance, hum, and sing along to. Helga loved her granddaughter Lindsey, and embraced the family that came along with Daina’s partner John, which included stepdaughters Tessa (Brent), and Caterina (Virgil), and six great-grandchildren: Stella, Marlo & Ivy, and Rino, Gracelynn & Blayke.

The family would like to acknowledge the care given to Helga at Bowview Manor. The care given to her was always kind and heartwarming, and we cannot thank them enough for all they did for her. Helga was a kind, gentle lady who always strived to do her best, and she will be missed.
