Helen Drage Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Helen Lillian Drage, who passed away peacefully in the Heartland Seniors Residence on February 7, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

Helen, the youngest of 6, was born on December 26, 1925, in Ogden, Calgary to Ernest and Clara Palmer. She moved to Victoria, BC where she married Cecil in May of 1944. They settled in Donald in 1963 after living in many areas in BC where they owned and operated Jade Logging until 2001.

Helen’s favorite times were spent playing the piano and organ, especially while attending the Golden United Church as well as the Sacred Heart Catholic Church full time. She moved to Westbank, BC after Cecil passed where she happily resided for many years and continued to play at Our Lady of Lourdes part time before moving to High River AB and then Okotoks AB for a change of pace.

Helen is survived by four children Donna (Stan), Gary, Dave, and Julie (Arleigh). She had 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband Cecil, siblings, son-in-law Stan, and her grandson Patrick.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Cunningham, the staff, and nurses at Heartland for their outstanding compassion during Helen’s stay in their care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (www.heartandstroke.ca) or the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
