Harold Meggitt passed away on March 16, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 71. He is survived by his common-law spouse Lila Greensides, his children: Loretta Meggitt, Brian Meggitt (Lisa), Dave (Crystal) Meggitt, Teena (John) Ketchmark; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Siblings: Judy Bandura, Bob Meggitt (Shawn), Jean Holden (Harvey), Pam Sands, numerous nieces and nephews, and their extended families.
Harold spent most of his career as a long-haul truck driver making trips across Canada and the USA. His kids have many fond memories traveling beside their Dad in the truck during some of these trips. Harold enjoyed camping with Lila and their K9 companions. Once spring hit and the motor home was packed, they were on the road every weekend until fall. They even ventured down into the southern USA and across Canada; many fond memories were made during their camping adventures. Harold had a love for music and enjoyed playing a variety of instruments, especially the guitar. In his younger years, Harold played and sang in a few bands; most recently, he could be found jamming with good friends on the weekend. Harold will be most remembered for his sense of humor; he would always have a joke or ten to tell and amazed his audience with the variety of stories he could light up the room with.
Due to current circumstances a celebration of life will be postponed until a later date.
