Gregory Stevens

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Greg Stevens, aged 70, on January 9, 2025. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland on October 22, 1954, Greg lived a life that was defined by his unwavering love for his family and his dedication to being a constant presence in their lives.

Greg’s greatest joy was his family. His love for his wife, Linda, was fierce and unwavering, and he was an equally devoted father to his daughters, Tarra and Tannis. In later years, Greg’s heart grew even fuller as he formed special, unique relationships with each of his four grandchildren: Ashley, Evan, Jake, and Frankie. He treasured watching them grow and always made time to be at their side, whether at a sporting event, sharing laughter around the dinner table, or simply enjoying their company.

A true family man, Greg was known for hosting warm, lively gatherings, bringing together friends and extended family for moments of joy and connection. His love of cooking was legendary. He was always eager to share his passion for preparing delicious meals, often spending hours in the kitchen, creating mouthwatering dishes for those he loved. Whether it was a traditional Newfoundland feast or a new recipe he was excited to try, Greg’s culinary skills were a source of pride, and every meal he made was infused with love. His kitchen was a place where he brought people together, and there was no greater joy for him than seeing his family and friends enjoying the meals he so carefully prepared.

Greg also loved music and could often be found listening to his favourite tunes while sipping on a good tequila. His hands were always ready to help, whether it was fixing a leaky pipe or building a gate — Greg was the first call when something needed repair.

Family meant everything to Greg. His home was a place of love, comfort, and support, and his legacy will continue to live on through the countless memories he created with those who were lucky enough to know him.

Greg leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda; his daughters, Tarra and Tannis; and his four cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Evan, Jake, and Frankie; and his surviving siblings, Judy, Terry, and Edina. His warmth, his strength, and his devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Greg. You will always be in our hearts.
