It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Gordon (Gord) Max Lorne, who left us on November 9, 2025 in Calgary, AB. Born on February 19, 1934, Gord lived a life filled with love and laughter, and his presence touched the lives of many within our community and far beyond.
Gord grew up throughout southern Alberta, spending most of his years in Calgary. He was the cherished only child of Max and Mary. In his later years, Gord built a wonderful family of his own, sharing countless memories with his wife of 69 years, Ellen. Gord’s legacy continues through his children Leslee, Brad (Louise), and Shelley (Robert), as well as his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
After graduating from Western Canada High School, Gord dedicated his professional life to Business Technology Sales. He earned respect not only for his numerous achievements in the field but also for his unwavering integrity and generosity. As a proud Calgarian, Gord was always ready to lend a helping hand. In his earlier years, he volunteered with North Haven hockey and softball teams, making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Gord’s interests extended well beyond his career. He enjoyed spending time cruising the oceans, relaxing at the family cabin in Sicamous, and participating in curling and golfing. Whether cheering for the Stampeders or the Flames or gathering with loved ones for a party, Gord truly embraced life’s simple pleasures.
Gord will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and through the many lives he touched. The family would like to extend their gratitude to AgeCare Midnapore and all those who supported Gord throughout his journey.
May Gord rest in peace, forever remembered with love.
